IDF/WPR ASIA-PACIFIC DIABETES EPIDEMIOLOGY & EDUCATION TRAINING COURSE 2008

IDF/WPR APDEC 2008 will be held on August 23 – 30, 2008 in Tokyo, Japan. It is the sixth course since beginning in 1991, and will be held under the umbrella of IDF/WPR.
IDF has identified “diabetes education” as its main focus under the UNR initiative and as being integral to the global implementation of the UN Resolution on diabetes. Therefore, participants in the upcoming training course will include not only medical doctors or young researchers, but also diabetes educators from each IDF/WPR membership country. The purpose of this course is to provide a fundamental education about diabetes, epidemiology, and statistics, and an understanding of research methodologies for implementing effective diabetes education.
