SELECTION CRITERIA
- Approximately 40 students (course participants) will be accepted for enrollment.
- Applicants must be:
- medical doctors and researchers in the field of diabetes
(approximately 20+ persons), or - diabetes educators from a IDF/WPR member country*
(a total of up to 22 persons), and - working in these capacities in Western-Pacific Region member countries, and
- less than 45 years of age
- medical doctors and researchers in the field of diabetes
- Students will be selected by a subgroup of the Organizing and Advisory Committees.
Please be advised that diabetes educators are also to be selected in
accordance with the WPR Diabetes Education Strategy.
WPR DIABETES EDUCATION STRATEGY
- Each of the IDF/WPR member countries is to nominate one candidate who meets the selection criteria for enrollment in the APDEC training course.
- Nominations are to be made through the IDF/WPR chair.
- Each of the nominees is to act as the contact person for the rollout of
education courses in their country.

Australia, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Tonga, Vanuatu, Viet Nam
