SELECTION CRITERIA

• Approximately 40 students (course participants) will be accepted for enrollment.
• Applicants must be:
  • medical doctors and researchers in the field of diabetes
    (approximately 20+ persons), or
  • diabetes educators from a IDF/WPR member country*
    　 (a total of up to 22 persons), and
  • working in these capacities in Western-Pacific Region member countries, and
  • less than 45 years of age
• Students will be selected by a subgroup of the Organizing and Advisory Committees.

Please be advised that diabetes educators are also to be selected in
accordance with the WPR Diabetes Education Strategy.

WPR DIABETES EDUCATION STRATEGY

• Each of the IDF/WPR member countries is to nominate one candidate who meets the selection criteria for enrollment in the APDEC training course.
• Nominations are to be made through the IDF/WPR chair.
• Each of the nominees is to act as the contact person for the rollout of
  education courses in their country.
